About the Activating Collections Regional Artist-in-Residency Program

With the support of the WA State Government’s Regional Exhibition Touring Boost, ART ON THE MOVE offers residency opportunities for artists interested in working with heritage collections. Resident artists develop creative work in response to collections to activate local histories and narratives of place.

Residencies are offered in partnership with the Museum of the Goldfields, Kalgoorlie; the Museum of the Great Southern, Albany

During the residency, artists will be required to engage with the local community through a public event such as an open studio, artist talk, or workshop. There may be an opportunity to exhibit the outcomes of the residency on location, to be negotiated between artists and host organisations.
