Applications now open: Touring Exhibition Program 2025-27

ART ON THE MOVE, the only Western Australian organisation dedicated to touring visual art exhibitions, is thrilled to announce the launch of its revamped Exhibitions Expressions of Interest (EOI) Program.

Independent curators, artists and organisations based in WA are now invited to submit their expressions of interest. This year, eligible applicants may apply for two programs, the Touring Exhibition Development Initiative, and the Presentation Ready Exhibition Touring Program.

Touring Exhibition Development Initiative

We are delighted to introduce the Touring Exhibition Development Initiative, an exciting program designed to support the research and development of new exhibitions. This initiative provides up to $10,000 in funding, plus professional support from the ART ON THE MOVE team to the successful applicant.

The Touring Exhibition Development Initiative aims to foster culturally important touring exhibitions that showcase high-quality Western Australian contemporary visual art and increase accessibility for audiences in regional WA.

Key Details

  • Open to independent curators, artist collectives, Aboriginal Art Centres, arts organisations, collections, and educational institutions based in Western Australia.
  • Focus on creating exhibitions with strong cultural relevance and the potential to tour regionally.
  • Successful projects must be made available for a 24-month tour with ART ON THE MOVE upon completion.
  • Applications must align with one or more goals of the ART ON THE MOVE Regional Visual Arts Touring Strategy.

Presentation Ready Exhibition Touring EOIs

In addition to the Development Initiative, ART ON THE MOVE continues to welcome Expressions of Interest for ‘presentation ready’ exhibitions for the touring period of 2025-2027. These EOIs are open to individual artists, groups, and organisations with exhibitions that are already complete and ready to engage new audiences across Western Australia and beyond.

Key Details

  • Open to individual artists, artist groups, independent curators, public and private galleries, Aboriginal Art Centres, and educational institutions.
  • Exhibitions should be ready for public presentation and meet high professional standards.
  • ART ON THE MOVE will provide comprehensive tour management, including marketing, logistics, and community engagement support.
  • Artist fees and additional support for public programming and educational activities are available for successful applicants.
