ART ON THE MOVE unveils four powerful exhibitions to tour across regional Western Australia from 2027-29.

As Western Australia’s only organisation dedicated to touring visual art exhibitions throughout regional WA, ART ON THE MOVE is proud to announce its 2027–2029 Touring Program.

Featuring four compelling exhibitions by leading contemporary Western Australian artists and curators, including Sherry Quiambao, Zali Morgan, Jacky Cheng and Gregory Pryor, the program continues the organisation’s nearly 40-year commitment to connecting art, people and place, while expanding access to high-quality visual arts experiences across the state.

The selected exhibitions are:

• Veiled in a Golden Hue – Sherry Quiambao
• The Rite of Divination – Jacky Cheng
• Huddle – Gregory Pryor, featuring new collaborative works with Jennifer Moyle Ogbeide-Ohama
• It’s Always Been Always – curated by Zali Morgan, featuring works by Amanda Bell, Harriette Bryant, Yabini Kickett, Jazz Money, and
  Kaylene Whiskey & the Iwantja Young Women’s Film Project

These exhibitions will embark on a journey across regional Western Australia, travelling to galleries and communities from the Goldfields to the South West and beyond. Along the way, audiences will encounter powerful stories of culture, identity, memory, ritual and belonging, creating opportunities for connection, learning and dialogue through contemporary art.

The selected exhibitions explore diverse perspectives and experiences, from migration and material culture to First Nations knowledge, ritual practices and collective resilience. Together, they reflect the richness of contemporary Western Australian artistic practice and ART ON THE MOVE’s commitment to bringing meaningful cultural experiences to communities across the state.

The 2027–2029 Touring Program continues this commitment, connecting audiences across Western Australia with some of the state’s most compelling contemporary artists and ideas. Exploring culture, identity, community and place, the exhibitions encourage reflection, spark conversation and foster creative exchange.

The four exhibitions join ART ON THE MOVE’s dynamic program of exhibitions including the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts boorda yeyi commission Under Waters and the Regional Arts Triennial exhibition, Radical Futures.
