The resourcefulness and enthusiasm of the crafts people from the Great Southern Region of Western Australia was evident in their presenting this second Viewpoint touring exhibition. …"Much of the exploration is highly personal whilst at the same time evidencing awareness of contemporary craft practises, resulting from the state-wide networking and extension of tertiary trained craft-peoples’ influences. This regional exhibition was "a catalyst for bringing together people, not only in the shared problem solving of exhibition preparation but in the common concern to communicate through their work in the medium of timber, glass, fibre, clay and metal, and in the quality of craftsmanship and aesthetic sensibility presently being practised in the area". Joan Campbell, introduction from the exhibition catalogue
