Earlier this year, we supported Noongar artist Darryl Dempster to undertake a residency at the Cannery Arts Centre.
Born and raised in Kepa Kurl (Esperance), Darryl spent many years moving around WA before settling in Boorloo (Perth) in his early adulthood. The residency offered Darryl the opportunity to reconnect with Country after 40 years.
We are delighted to share a glimpse of the magic that unfolded, as captured by filmmaker Rosie Henderson.
Darryl Dempster’s artist residency was made possible through the Regional Creative Industries Fund with support from the WA Government.
