ART ON THE MOVE is proud to be a core partner in the development of the third iteration of the Regional Arts Triennial.
From its inception in 2017, ART ON THE MOVE has been at the heart of this unique three-year cycle of capacity building within WA’s regional visual arts sector.
The Alternative Archive was the first regional artist survey in two decades at John Curtin Gallery in 2020, touring the state with ART ON THE MOVE until early 2024. In 2023, we supported one of the largest gatherings of regional visual artists in recent years at the Open Borders Summit.
In 2025, ART ON THE MOVE is supporting vital capacity building opportunities for regional curators, artists and venues. Valuing the Triennial’s regionally led approach, ART ON THE MOVE is working closely with Southern Forest Arts and the regional sector to deliver another event that is pivotal in regional artist and curator career progression.
The crucial Regional Exhibition Touring Boost funding for the Regional Arts Triennial will support its core mission of empowering regional artists, enabling them to bring their work to wider audiences — from their local communities to metro audiences and then, through a statewide tour, to audiences in every regional capital and beyond.
ART ON THE MOVE celebrates the tenacity, commitment and ambition of regional participants, leading regional galleries and spaces, local governments, peak service agencies, and funding partners in delivering this exceptional event.
