APPLICATIONS CLOSED

The SHIFT touring development initiative invites applications from Western Australian curators and arts organisations to propose the redevelopment of an existing exhibition which presents an experimental model of touring.

The selected SHIFT project/s will receive up to $10,000 in development support with touring to commence in 2027.

Applications close Friday 20 February, 4pm (AWST).

Please note that we are unable to offer curatorial feedback or assess the artistic merits of a proposal.

Who is eligible to apply?

Expressions of interest will be considered from WA based:

  • Curators
  • Public and private art galleries, craft councils, artist-run initiatives and contemporary art spaces
  • Public and private collections
  • Aboriginal corporations, art centres and other legally constituted professional arts and artist organisations
  • Artist collectives

Applications will not be accepted from independent artists. Independent curators/artist collectives must provide evidence of previous successful delivery of visual arts projects.

Accessibility

We encourage applications from those who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse, d/Deaf, people with disability, and LGBTQIA+.

Applications in flexible formats or languages will be accommodated wherever possible, providing all required applicant information and support material is supplied.

How many times can I apply?

Applicants may submit only one application per round.

Applicants with an exhibition that is presentation-ready may also submit an EOI for our Presentation Ready Exhibition Touring program.

Support material

Within the completed application form, you will be required to upload support material. Each of the below categories allow for up to 10 files to be uploaded. Please note a size restriction of 5MB per file.

Artist/s bio
Career highlights and basic bio information for artist/s, curator and other practitioners involved in the exhibition, max one paragraph per person. Include images and/or links to video of each artist/s work.

Images
Upload a maximum of 10 images that support your application. Documentation of exhibition installation and a selection of individual works is strongly encouraged.

Written material
Peer and/or public response, essays, media articles, reviews or publicity (include source, date and publication details).

Making changes to your application

When you submit the form, you will receive a PDF copy of your written responses via email.

Changes may be requested via email to exhibitions@artonthemove.art. Changes requested after the application closing date and time will not be accepted.
