We are excited to offer three unique Artist in Residence opportunities across the Mid West, Gascoyne and Great Southern regions in 2024.

With the support of the WA State Government’s Regional Exhibition Touring Boost, ART ON THE MOVE offers residency opportunities for artists interested in working with local communities and collections.

This year, three Western Australian artist will be provided the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in a significant research project while living and working in Kinjarling/Albany, Gathaagudu/Shark Bay or Carnamah.

Application outcomes will be announced on or prior to May 20, 2024.

How do I apply?

What support is offered throughout the application process?

Support from ART ON THE MOVE is available to artists throughout every stage of the application process. We encourage all applicants to contact us with any questions, or to request any support.

How many residencies are being offered?

There are three residency placements being offered in 2024.

Artists may apply as individuals or collectives. In the case of collectives, the residency fee will be divided between members.

To learn more, we will also be offering an information session on Thursday April 11, 5.30pm – 6.30pm with host organisations and artists, who will discuss their projects in more detail. This is a great opportunity to hear directly from those who have participated in the program, and ask any relevant questions. Registrations essential – click here to register

Can I apply for more than one of the residencies?

Yes, you may submit an application to each residency location. However, if successful, you will only be selected for one program.

Please keep in mind that each residency is in response to the local stories and community. If you are considering multiple applications, please contact us to discuss your proposed project/s and suitability to each location.
