THE OPPORTUNITY

The residency offers artists the opportunity to live and work in Kinjarling/Albany and immerse themselves in a significant research project over a period of six weeks. Hosted by The Museum of the Great Southern, the resident artist will engage with the local collection(s) and develop creative work in response, to activate local histories and narratives of place.

During the residency, artists will be encouraged to engage with the local community through a public event(s) such as an open studio, artist talk, or workshop. There may also be an opportunity to exhibit the outcomes of the residency on location, to be negotiated between the artist and The Museum of the Great Southern.

RESIDENCY DATES

The residency should take place from September 2024 – January 2025. A minimum of 6 weeks to be spent on location, undergone consecutively or in blocks, to be determined between The Museum of the Great Southern and the artist.
